Last Thursday (22), Modulo was granted the ASSESPRO-RJ Best Company award for the Best Knowledge Management Solution. The winning case study that was entered into the contest was GESPI – Managing through Indicators. The work delivered by Modulo in partnership with SEGOV – Rio de Janeiro’s State Government Agency, and PRODERJ – Rio de Janeiro’s Center for Information Technology and Communication, included the implementation of the solution to evaluate the quality of the services provided to the public by the areas of Education, Public Safety and Health.
This was an innovative solution that allowed project managers to effectively inventory, analyze, identify, evaluate and address the issues in each of those areas.
Starting out by collecting data on the services provided, as well as the key issues and challenges faced by schools, police departments, and hospitals throughout the state, the tool consolidates the information into a single centralized database, whose analyses and reports are made available in real time to officials and administrators by means of metrics/indicators to help support the decision making process, and the prioritization of resources.
As an end result, the tool should provide officials with the analysis, identification, control and tracking of the issues faced by each area throughout the different regions of the state. In order to turn the project into reality, Rio de Janeiro’s State Government Agency (SEGOV), and Rio de Janeiro’s Center for Technology Information and Communication (PRODERJ) hired Modulo to develop a program entitled Managing Public Services through Indicators (GESPI) with the use of the Modulo Risk Manager tool.
GESPI made it possible to consolidate the knowledge from several specialized areas, and integrate different technologies to develop the solution. Several IT, Web, Telecommunications, Mobility, Business Intelligence, and Risk Management areas were involved in this project.
