Risk Manager™ receives Rio Info Prize for best information Security Solution

The Rio Info event is dedicated to Rio de Janeiro-based companies investing in the development of Information Ttechnology based in Rio de Janeiro, and its purpose is to present the achievements of companies operating in the state. This year, Risk Manager™ was elected Best Information Security ToolT Developed by a Company in the State of Rio de Janeiro.

Modulo, the Latin American market leader in Information Security, faced the competition of companies with strong operations in the Brazilian market, and presented its software program for risk assessment and Information Security knowledge management, Risk Manager™.

Risk Manager™ is a specialist system that measures, assesses and manages risk in organizations. It was developed using 100% national technology and resulted from innovative and creative development efforts in three essential areas: a knowledge base on Information Security containing checklists, automatic collectors and security controls; a specialist software program with a friendly interface entirely developed by Modulo's development team; and a certified and permanently updated methodology compliant with ISO 9000, ISO 17799, ISO Guide 73 and PMIBOK. With this tool, companies are able to identify and assess their main security problems and their corresponding solutions, as well as to define priorities in order to achieve them.

The Prize
The Rio Info Prize focuses on solutions - products and services - developed within the state of Rio de Janeiro which stand out for their creative innovation and practicality, as well as the impact and the value they bring to clients' businesses. This edition of the event featured the Rio Info Solution Award celebration, as well as the a Corporate Show and the Seminars. The award identified and acknowledged the best solutions offered by companies working in the state of Rio de Janeiro, around the topics presented during the event.

Risk Manager™'s New Version
The new version of Risk Manager™, launched last week during the CSO Meeting 2005 features additional customizable fields, as well as changes in the risk assessment reports, full live update, inclusion of photographs, inclusion, interview customization, a personalized color-schemed risk matrix and new Compliance checklists.

The Compliance checklist set is one of the most anticipated features in this new version. Among the highlights is the Brazilian Central Bank checklist, which includes Resolution 2817 on new deposit accounts and transactions made exclusively through electronic means and use of electronic communication. Checklists also comply with Resolution 2554, regarding the implementation of internal control systems. As to security management, checklist NBR ISO/IEC 17799 helps organizations fulfill the security requirements defined in both this set and the 17799 certification process. The New Civil Code checklist assists administrators in complying with the New Brazilian Civil Code, whose Article 43 determines that legal entities are liable for any acts that incur losses to third parties.
